Sports and Recreation for the Blind (SRB)

Empowering Lives Through Adapted Sports and Recreation

SRB, a 501C3 nonprofit located in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles, California, is dedicated to a powerful mission: "To empower and enable the lives of the blind and visually impaired through adaptable sports and recreational activities." We're committed to opening doors and breaking down barriers that the blind and visually impaired community encounters daily. Our aim is simple: to educate our participants, parents, and the general public that those who are blind and visually impaired can engage in a wide range of activities with minimal to no adaptations required.

"We don't do different things; we do things differently."

At SRB, we offer an array of sporting and recreational opportunities, designed to empower and entertain. Our diverse offerings include Judo, Goalball, and Beep Baseball. But we don't stop at sports; we embrace recreational activities that enrich lives. Our members enjoy everything from bowling and comedy shows to thrilling theme park adventures. Excitingly, in 2024, we'll introduce our eagerly awaited "Camp Verdugo."

Notably, SRB relies on grassroots efforts for funding; we don't receive grants. If you'd like to support SRB and our inspiring mission, there are several ways to contribute:

1. Zelle: Make a difference by sending your donation to sportsandrecsfortheblind@gmail.com.

2. Website: Visit our official website at sportsandrecreationfortheblind.org to learn more about our mission and easily contribute.
